Reading Notes: Homer's Iliad, Part A
This week I decided to take the classical route and read Homer's Iliad as retold by Alfred J. Church. I am somewhat familiar with most of the stories. One of my favorite books is actually an adaptation of the story Achilles and Patroclus.
So it really is no surprise to me when I found The Deeds and Death of Patroclus interesting and a possible candidate to retell. I would definitely enjoy modernizing it and maybe placing it in a different context but maintaining something similar to its original plot. There are various interpretations on the kind of relationship between Achilles and Patroclus, and I would like to maybe explore that in my story.

Another story that I enjoyed read was that of Hector and Andromache, I found to be a little heart-breaking that she somehow knew she was not going to seem him again. With this story I kind of wanted it to put it in Andromache point of view in a way that is addressed to Achilles. She states that he is the reason behind her losing her family and I know that he is the one who takes Hector away from her too.
